2007年7月6日 · The Blackbird has a low-mass boron cantilever and dedicated tip. The EVO III has an aluminum tube cantilever with a proprietary coating, and an elliptical tip. Their output voltage is different. Their compliance specs are also different, which evidences a specific damping for each one. Thus, the Blackbird cannot be a "rebadged" EVO III.
Sumiko Blue Point Special Evo. III - Vinyl Engine
2004年6月15日 · I've just obtained a new Sumiko Blue Point Special Evo. III. I think this one is the third generation of the renowned Blue Point Special, but I haven't tried it yet. Has anybody here had some experience with the BPS Evo. III? What does its sound look like? Is the sound different from the first generation? Better, the same, or worse? Thanks.

2020年2月21日 · I had an original high output BPS (non-EVO) that hasn’t been used for quite a while (it wore out) and found that it sounded much better at less than 47K (37K? 33K? I forget). Also, there has been quite a bit of Hana EH vs EL discussion on-line but I have been able to find almost nothing about the high vs. low output BPS EVO III.

They have the same cantilever, stylus profile and tracking force @ 2.0 but the rest is different.

Cartridge Duel: Dynavector 10x5 Vs. Sumiko Blue Point No. 2
2011年8月17日 · I owned a Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO III (which is the big brother of the Blue Point No. 2) and a Dynavector DV10X5. After listening to both the cartridges, I preferred the sound of the DV10X5 to that of the Sumiko EVO III.
Looking to buy Blue Point Special Evo III - Vinyl Engine
2013年3月24日 · Hi, to echo the above comments: I owned one Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO III and enjoyed its recognizable semi-bright dry sound. But I enjoy my Denon DL-110 better for its more natural sound. In MY book it is a hugely more attractive purchase, at about less than half the cost of the EVO III. Regards, bauzace50
