Lots of intensity on the nose here: espresso, oiled leather, bbq burnt ends, and smoldering wood on the campfire.

2024年6月4日 · Elijah Craig Barrel Proof B524 is Heaven Hill's fourth foray into variable age statements for their classic Barrel Proof product. This was started with B523 at 11 Years and 5 months, followed by the well regarded C923 at 13 years and 7 months, A124 at 10 years and 9 months and progressing to this release with an age of 11 years and 2 months.

B524 is not one of those revered ECBP batches that stays with you for minutes after each sip, lingering long enough to make you question why you’d regularly drink much else. But it’s very good ...

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch B524 is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged for 11 years and 2 months and bottled at 130.6 proof. The mashbill consists of 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye. Released three times a year since 2013, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof batches now carry specific age statements instead of the previous 12-year standard.

I currently own a 127 proof 9 year Private Barrel, Toasted, batches C921, B522, C922, A123, B523, and now B524; so this is what I am basing my opinion on for this new batch. 🥃 Prep: Cork popped and bottle allowed to rest for an hour or so. Poured in a Glencairn, swirled, more resting; she is a spicy gal after all.

To sip Barrel Proof is to experience Bourbon in its purest form: uncut, straight from the barrel, and without chill filtering. Each bottle is hand labeled with its unique proof and batch number; but the nose, taste, and finish are pure Elijah Craig. This will be pulled from the batch in stock. There is no guarantee of a specific batch number.

The ECBP B524 has a nice balance of sweetness, spiciness, dark notes and dry oak. Sweetness hits the palate first but that is immediately dominated by spiciness for a moment and then the underlying sweetness comes back along with old oak & leather and rounds the pour out.
