The Ecto-1a was an updated version of the Ecto-1 that the Ghostbusters used to travel. This vehicle appears in the film Ghostbusters II and many issues of Volume One and Two of the Ongoing IDW Comic Series. The Ghostbusters installed improvements on Ecto-1 with more technical equipment.

Ecto-1a is an upgraded version of the Ecto-1, seen only in Ghostbusters II, which includes more technical equipment on the vehicle's roof and digital announcement boards on each side of it. The logo is updated and added to the hood.

The Ecto-1 (also known as the Ectomobile) was the vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel throughout New York City busting ghosts and other entities. It was relocated to Summerville, Oklahoma for over a decade, but was later returned to New York City in summer 2021.

ecto-1a This 1959 Cadillac Meteor is of identical vintage as the famous ECTO-1, and was purchased in late 1988 to replace the original, which had finally expired just before the team's return to business.
