Brass for the Edge is easy to form from .300 RUM cases. The best powder for this cartridge is H1000 / ADI 2217 and Retumbo / ADI 2225 along with similar burn rates from competing brands. The Edge throat and leade design works well with a wide range of .338 caliber projectiles while being optimized for those with match style ogives.

2018年6月18日 · I'd vote for the 338 EDGE pushing 300g Berger EHs. If you were going 30" barrel, the 300 RUM would be more of a contender, but all things considered, the EDGE will have theoretically better barrel life and probably hit harder at the longer ranges you are talking about.

2011年11月16日 · I've shot my 338 Edge to 2200 yards and have bested 338 Lapuas, 408 Cheytacs, and .50 BMGs. I've knocked over steel silhoutte targets at over 600 yards with the 338 Edge and destroyed some MGM targets with it at 500 yards and under. It's a very powerfull round!

2011年8月27日 · If you just want a solid rifle for hunting and some long range shooting you might want to stay with the rum. but if you have the money and and are looking for some serious long range hardware then go for the edge or even a lapua or similar.

2018年12月29日 · I don’t know much about the 338 RUM, but I am getting 2880 FPS from my 338 Edge with 300gr Bergers and a 30” barrel. That is using H1000, Norma 300 RUM brass, and Federal magnum primers. My vote is for the Edge. And you can get Bertram brass for less than ADG if you want.
