Contrary to developments in inflation and growth, EFTA countries face rather different challenges with respect to energy policy. In terms of energy supply, Switzerland and Liechtenstein are heavily dependent on imports. Their economies would be severely affected if there were to be serious gas or electricity shortages in Europe.
