AD value for EIGRP summary route? - Cisco Learning Network
Let's suppose that EIGRP summary route's AD is 90 as Internal EIGRP's AD. And if eBGP has run on both routers, since eBGP has lower metric (20) than Internal EIGRP (90), it would use eBGP. And it would probably cause some loop (I believe so) The AD is 5 to create kind of a floating discard route.
EIGRP AD=FD? FS or not? - Cisco Learning Network
For a route to meet the feasibility requirment the AD has to be less that the FD. If the FD = AD it does not meet the feasibility requirement. You can verify this in a lab. The route will not show up in the routing table. This is a good question to understand before you take the BSCI.
Summary route in EIGRP - Cisco Learning Network
EIGRP change the AD value for summary routes after manual summarisation. I want to know why it changes the AD value. Is it because the route will get priority over others in the routing table? Thanks. Harry . R1#show ip route 192.168.48.1 255.255.254.0 . Routing entry for 192.168.48.0/23, supernet . Known via "eigrp 1", distance 5, metric ...
Default administrative distance of EIGRP route summary
and I know it's possible to change AD by command distance, I just wonder why this parameter doesn't work. Now check it: On R1, I change the AD to 3 at the end of ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 3. and it's shown in the show ip route 1.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 . R1#show ip route 1.1.0.0 255.255.0.0. Routing entry for 1.1.0.0/16

Understanding EIGRP RD and FD - Cisco Learning Network
EIGRP on R2 chooses the link over fa0/1, with a FD of 2172416. This makes sense. Now this is the part I'm having trouble understanding. I'm assuming that on R2 the FD minus the RD for the 10.100.124.8/30 network is the cost for R2 to reach R1, (FD)2172416 - (RD)2169856 = 2560. So it costs 2560 for R2 to reach R1 over the fa0/1 interface
'distance' command for EIGRP - Cisco Learning Network
while practising with EIGRP I found this unexpected behaviour which I could also find no mention in the documentation: I have applied 'distance 91 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255' which I was expected to change the administrative distance to 91 for all routes learned by all neighbours; in fact it changed AD only for EIGRP internal routes.
Eigrp-AD value - Cisco Learning Network
Yes exactly when the routes are redistributed from the external source and also by the eigrp having a different Autonomous system, because the internal routes are preferred over the external ones therefore the AD of the external eigrp is set to a …
Advertising Default-route EIGRP - Cisco Learning Network
This is because the AD of the default static route is 254 and the AD of the summary route to NULL0 on R2 is 5. Due to this, the EIGRP summary route to null0 overrides the default static route. When R2 receives traffic from R1 for the destinations for which it does not have a more specific route, but are covered by the summary route, the traffic ...
EIGRP - Default routes? - Cisco Learning Network
ip summary−address eigrp 100 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 . this method gives the summary default route an AD of 5 by default. You can change this by configuring an AD at the end of the summary command. For example. router eigrp 100. network 10.0.0.0! interface serial 0. encapsulation frame−relay. no ip address! interface serial 0.1 point−to−point ...
