EIPA (L593754) is an orally active TRPP3 channel inhibitor with an IC 50 of 10.5 μM. EIPA also enhances autophagy by inhibiting Na + /H +-exchanger 3 (NHE3). EIPA inhibits macropinocytosis as well. In 1991, Dr. Brenda Schick and Kevin Williams with the Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska developed the EIPA, the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment, a much-needed tool that defines and assesses skills and knowledge needed for interpreting in educational settings.

The EIPA Written Test evaluates the interpreter’s understanding of information that is critical to performing with students in an education setting. The test is an online multiple-choice test administered by EIPA-approved proctors at approved sites. There are 176 questions covering the following nine domains: Child Language Development; Culture

The EIPA Performance Test evaluates the ability to expressively interpret classroom content and discourse and the ability to receptively interpret student sign language. It is not limited to any one sign language or system.
