Elmax is the femslash ship between Jane "Eleven" Hopper and Max Mayfield from the Stranger Things fandom. Since Max was first introduced in Season 2, after Eleven was allegedly sent to the upside down, Max first heard about her from Mike when he was refusing to let her join The Party.

After becoming friends over their dislike of certain girls in the school, and defending each other to them, Max and El became super close. One could go as far as to say they were best friends, but to be fair, the whole party were best friends. Although, El wouldn't lie and say she didn't enjoy having a girl best friend.

In 1985, Max and El are initially on neutral terms, both now being members of the Party. Unlike Will, Max originally defends Mike and El's relationship, calling it "romantic". However, when El approaches Max at her house about Mike ditching her, Max interprets this as Mike lying to El to hang out with Lucas.
