Word seems to have added some extra white space before and after the text in some of the a cells of a table. I have the spacing set to 0 before and after for all text, and the line spacing set to msoffice

2014年3月30日 · After creating a table and filling a row of cells with information of varied length, I am often left with large empty spaces in cells below some shorter texts. This "wasted" space resists deletion. My general impression is that Word lets me go to the cell with the most data in it, place cursor at end of it, and press delete.

How to fix this: Select the table, then right-click -> Table Properties. On the Row tab, disable "specify height" and you are golden. Highlight the table, select 'Line and Paragraph spacing' button and 'Remove space after paragraph'. Just worked for me! Yes, the problem is that you can't access paragraph settings within tables.

2020年5月27日 · As you can see from the screenshot, there is an empty portion of the table that bleeds onto the next page. In practice, it lowers my table of authorities and leaves a blank space at the top of the page. I have the unseen grammar marks turned on, and I cannot delete the paragraph breaks causing it to move down. Any ideas? Thank you.

2022年5月5日 · Hi, I cannot get rid of this extra space in the bottom row of my tables. The only thing I can find is that there's a "bottom" which is apparently not the same as the bottom of the cell, but even moving that doesn't change anything. I've tried changing the cell sizes, row heights, paragraph spacing, alignment, etc. Nothing so far has worked.
