EN47 is a tough oil quenching spring steel which, when heat treated, offers good wear resistance. Mn. Cr. Forge at 1050°C. Do not work this steel when it has fallen below 840°C. Slow furnace cool from 840°/860°C. Pre heat slowly to 650/700°C and thoroughly soak.
