Erbil (Arabic: أربيل, ʾarbīl; [3] Syriac: ܐܲܪܒܹܝܠ, Arbel [4] [5]), also called Hawler (Kurdish: هەولێر, Hewlêr), [6] is the capital and most populated city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
