Column B contains formulas, so I want to avoid counting blanks cells that have a formula in them. I'm comfortable using countifs, but basically I can't find the syntax to say Many thanks for any help

Oct 27, 2021 · Column Y is the result of a formula based on column X that is calculated in VBA ie =IF(X2<>"","GOOD",""). The values in column Y are then over-written/special pasted in the same column using VALUES so that the formula is not visible. If I use COUNTIF(Y1:Y100,"="), the resultant value is 0, but if I use COUNTIF(Y1:Y100,""), I get the true value.

To be more specific, one column can contain a date and is formatted as a date and the other is formatted as general and will have a string of letters and numbers when populated.
