Dec 4, 2005 · The F20B truly was the predecessor to the F20C, so there's a lot of good stuff in it. Quite a few people have even turbocharged it- with the high compression and great stroke geometry, light boost makes a really nice power curve on the F20B.

The F20b is a destroked H22 and basically can use the same parts except that the F20b is an obd2 motor with no stock obd1 computer for it. The ecu will be your headache.

Im trying to decide to swap a stock f20b in my 97 cord lx, or just build up a f22a a little. just cant decide cause i dont want to mess with the f20b if its got an immobilizer. any response much appreciated.

Sep 2, 2007 · f20b is basically the same has h22a. so i think it's safe to say anything that works for h22 will work for f20b. so just research the h22a swap then come back and ask any specific questions that might linger. of course, you'll get people asking you why an f20b when the h22 makes like 20 more ft/lb torque than f20 and your car isn't exactly a stripped hatch.

Jan 14, 2005 · it weighs just as much as an h22 because the f20b is a DEstroked h22. as far as transmissions go, f20 runs t2t4 which has lsd and shorter gearing than the base h22 tranny, but if you run a jdm type s tranny they have the exact same ratios and final drive. if i remember correctly hmo offers this upgrade when you buy an h22 swap.

May 5, 2003 · The F20B definitely has its merits. I wouldn't say that it's not as good as the H22A. They both make the same horsepower, while the H22 makes a little more torque because of the extra displacement. If you already know where you're getting the engine, see if they can include the sportshift tranny that comes with the F20B.
