The Mecachrome V634 engine (also known as Mecachrome Formula 2 V6) is a 3.4-litre, turbocharged or naturally-aspirated, V6 racing engine, designed, developed and produced by Mecachrome, and is used in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, FIA Formula 3 Championship, and the World Endurance Championship.

2024年8月31日 · The new look of the F3 2025 car is in line with the latest F2 and F1 family, reflecting the same safety, systems, and performance, at affordable costs. It complies with the latest FIA safety standards and is powered by a bespoke 6-cylinder 3.4-litre naturally aspirated Mecachrome engine, which delivers 380 horsepower at 8000 rpm.

The FIA Formula 3 Championship car is used by all of the teams, and features a Dallara carbon-fiber monocoque chassis powered by a Mecachrome naturally-aspirated direct-injected V6 engine and Pirelli dry slick and rain treaded tyres.

2022年7月23日 · The current iteration of the F3 has a 3.4L Mecachrome V6 engine with 380hp at 8,000rpms. The Mecachrome engine is developed by Italian manufacturer, Mecachrome SAS, based out of France.

Based on the 1600cc, 8v Toyota 2T-G engine found in the Toyota Celica (the forerunner to the 4A-GE engine), the F3 racing variant was developed by the Pedrazzani brothers’ Novamotor operation in Italy. Bore and stroke were increased to give 1997cc capacity and a 12:1 compression ratio.

Neil Brown Engineering has been involved in Formula 3 since 1986, where a NBE engine with VW won the British F3 Championship with Andy Wallace. After a British Championship win with Toyota and J.J. Lehto in 1988, a long and successful period of tuning and developing the Mugen-Honda F3 engine began.

With a very low ride height sensitivity and a wide range of suspension set-up possibilities, the F3 car features a bespoke, 3.4 litre naturally aspirated Mecachrome 6-cylinder engine, and will run on Aramco’s advanced fuel, which is being developed to the FIA’s 100% sustainable fuel standard.
