Tri-Rail "F40PHL-2" 805 was reportedly created by M-K using CR/PC GP40 3256 as a core, along with parts from BN F45s 6637 and 6641. Here she is departing the joint Amtrak/Tri-Rail station at Hollywood FL with a southbound train.

2023年3月1日 · A Tri-Rail commuter train pulls towards the Hollywood, Florida station on March 28, 1991. Power is a Morrison-Knudson F40PHL-2. These "mini" FP45s were handsome engines. This one was fabricated in Boise in 1988 from a Conrail GP40 and two Burlington Northern F45s.

The only F45 cabs that MK reused were for the 5 1988 F40PHL-2's "built" for Tri-Rail. The general consensus was that it would have been cheaper to fabricate new after the units were done.

D&S also has two custom-built MP2000NG diesels, numbered 1201 and 1202, converted by Motive Power and Equipment Solutions from ex- Tri-Rail F40PHL-2 . Unfortunately D&SNG has been unable to put them into service because of design flaws and missing parts.
