2006年8月21日 · I see. The seam is caused by using of the Hasegawa fuselage for the F4U-4 and make it longer to fit the F4U-5 model with the new re-shaped nose. The F4U-5N had the same fuselage lenght like the F4U-5. So they could use the same parts for the another variant of the Corsair. Generally the all models of the F4U-5 serie had the same lenght.

USA gave France AU-1 and they were impressed with it so they ordered a version that had better high alt performance and so Vought gave it the R-2800-18W of the F4U-4.
