The FAO Representation in Kenya aligns its programmes and projects to the country’s development agenda as envisioned in the Kenya Vision 2030 through the implementation of the Country Programming Framework (CPF).

In Kenya, FAO focuses on five areas for support to agriculture in line with Government priorities: policy and institutional reform; productivity and competitiveness; sustainable natural resource and environmental management; food security and nutrition initiatives; as well as information, knowledge management and coordination systems.

FAO’s Strategic Framework (2022-2031) seeks to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable, agri-food systems for Better Production, Better Nutrition, a Better Environment, and a Better Life, leaving No One Behind.

Collaborations and Partnerships are instrumental in Kenya’s aspirations towards ending hunger and poverty and creating decent employment by leveraging the modernization of sustainable Agriculture sector.

This brief is the result of a collaboration between the Government of Kenya, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Union, in close cooperation with national experts.
