Portrait of a Graduate and Presentations of Learning is not new to Cedar Lane, or FCPS. It has been around since 2014. This year, all FCPS schools have included POG POL in their SIIP (School Innovation and Improvement Plan). Cedar began planning for this inclusion to the plan at the end of the previous school year.

Portrait of a Graduate (POG) is FCPS’ commitment to ensuring that all students have the skills to be successful in all aspects of life today, tomorrow and in the future. FCPS' new strategic plan uses POG as a set of measures for our students reaching the goals of academic growth and excellence along with leading tomorrow’s innovation.
POG identifies five attributes for student development and growth throughout PreK-12: Communicator, Collaborator, Creative & Critical Thinker, Ethical & Global Citizen, and Goal-directed & Resilient Individual. These attributes are at a level of ‘being’ – they represent a
