Faris Scherwiz, real name Sarisa Scherwil Tycoon, [1] is a playable character in Final Fantasy V. She is a pirate captain who travels with a pirate ship and its crew, accompanied by a sea-dragon named Syldra. To earn the respect of the other pirates, Faris disguises herself as a man when leading her crew.

Faris Scherwiz (Japanese: ファリス・シェルヴィッツ, Hepburn: Farisu Sheruvittsu) is a character in the Final Fantasy series. She first appears in Final Fantasy V as an early antagonist and later one of its protagonists. She was born Princess Sarisa Scherwil Tycoon, but was lost at sea and raised as a boy by pirates.
