FGO is a turn based RPG game released in 2014 by Delight Works ad is now one of the most successful gacha games on the market, ranking top 3 on sales charts in almost every month. Most of it's profit is due to Fate/ being a famous franchise, which allowed the game to grow a lot even when doing just the bare minimum during the begining of the game.
How does FGO compare to other gacha games? - Reddit
Yes even in comparison to more recent games, like SinoAlice and Crossing Void, I like how FGO is played, though most of other gacha games has the auto function for farming. Also the gripe on RNG mat drops is another thing you can hate FGO for.
Worth starting FGO? : r/gachagaming - Reddit
If you were to sum up FGO in a manner that fits it best. The game is very antiquated and designed around a playerbase that enjoyed that style of gacha back when stuff like The Battle Cats, Summoners War, Brave Frontier, and Unite was hot stuff. Nowadays, it leaves a lot to be desired if you weren't a player playing for a long period of time.
Why FGO still best vs. other gacha games : r/gachagaming - Reddit
This is what makes FGO a very unique gacha game vs. all other gacha game available on market: "Meta is just an option". A single player game will not force you to use toptier best skill character just to finish the endgame contents. FGO game design itself is meta friendly for not forcing it's content to this certain type of character, giving you more freedom to let you use your favorites ...
Are There Other Gacha Games Like FGO? : r/grandorder - Reddit
Where to me it borrows some aspects of different gacha games and molds it together to make itself unique. FGO's battle system, a dorm similar to Azur Lane, and from what appears from the units a similar form of uncapping to Magia Record. Currently new in JP so not much info is known about it to western gacha players.

For long-time FGO players, is the gacha getting better or are we just developing Stockholm's syndrome?
Why do other Gacha game communities seem to hate FGO?
Even with the FGO's abysmal SSR rates, friend point servants are still very useful up until the current LB. Getting an SSR here feels like a luxury more than a necessity. The only other gacha I play actively now is FFBE and if you even attempt to use something that isn't a 7* unit (equivalent of an SSR), you're pretty much screwed.
How does FGO compare to other gacha games in terms of content?
Fgo's dead weeks are by far the most dead out of all gachas I played. You can't even replay boss fight for fun, which every other one allows. There's really no other game modes outside of events, even after 5+ years. I'm fine with no PvP, but at least offer something else to do. Plus FGO has a SHIT gacha and the pity system is total bullshit.
