The Fairchild F-27 and Fairchild Hiller FH-227 are versions of the Fokker F27 Friendship twin-engined, turboprop, passenger aircraft formerly manufactured under license by Fairchild Hiller in the United States. The Fairchild F-27 was similar to the standard Fokker F27, while the FH-227 was an independently developed, stretched version.

The FH-227 differed from the standard F27 by having a fuselage 'stretch' of 1.83m to provide accommodation for a maximum of 52 passengers, with increased baggage and cargo space, and by the installation of 1678kW Rolls-Royce Dart RDa.7 Mk 532-7 turboprop engines.

Fairchild independently developed the stretched FH-227, which appeared almost two years earlier than the Mk 500. The FH-227 featured a 1.83m (6ft 0in) stretch over standard length F-27/F-27s, taking standard seating to 52.
