FM 1093 serves as the free frontage roads for the Westpark Tollway from the tollway's western terminus to its interchange with FM 1464 in Clodine. Beyond this interchange, FM 1093 continues along Westheimer Road to its terminus at I-610 near The Galleria shopping mall.

TxDOT's Houston District proposes to widen SH 99 from four to six lanes between FM 1093 and I-10 in Fort Bend and Harris Counties. This project is proposed in order to improve mobility and accommodate the growing traffic demand within the project area.

2016年6月16日 · The TxDOT Houston District is proposing to widen FM 723 from Avenue D to FM 1093 from two lanes to four lanes in Fort Bend County, Texas. The project is needed to improve mobility as FM 723 between Avenue D to FM 1093 is inadequate for both existing and projected growth in the area and does not meet current design standards.

TxDOT and Fort Bend County are developing projects to construct additional main lanes and connect frontage roads on SH 99 between FM 1093 and I-10. In January 2023, the main lane project was let for construction which allowed contractors to bid on the project.

The existing FM 1093 roadway is a two-lane undivided facility. The proposed roadway improvement project would extend the existing Westpark Tollway (four-lane controlled access tollway with continuous non-toll frontage roads) from its current terminus at SH 99 through the FM 723 intersection.

On January 29, 2024, Fort Bend Transit had the groundbreaking of their Westpark Park and Ride. The Park and Ride facility is located on the westbound frontage road of Westpark Toll Road (FM 1093) near Cinco Ranch, about 10 miles to the southwest of the Energy Corridor.
