2019年4月9日 · I’m the same way. I carried an FN M16A4 for a few months in Iraq before switching to an M4, and I never looked back. I certainly wouldn’t want to be issued an M16 again, but as I get closer to the end of my Army career, I’ve gotten the urge to clone my old A4, and even an FN A2, as a way of recalling my experiences over the years.

2022年5月29日 · My first two A4's have the FN M5 RAS uppers that were available several years ago. I used clone lowers. Most recently, I acquired a couple FN M4 lowers and a couple mil-surplus legacy marked FN uppers. One of them will have the FN CHF 20" barrel w/Centurion rail and SF closed tine. I also got two FN legacy marked BCG's.

2018年9月19日 · I believe the TDP is still owned by Colt. FN produces the bulk of M16A4 right now, but Colt still has fulfillment contracts. An there are plenty of Colt M16A4 still in service. The Commercial Version of the FN M16A4 I believe is made in Fredericksburg VA, where the Military Version is built in Columbia, SC.

2021年10月9日 · The FN A4 that I was issued in 2004 was made that year, so it was a pretty early production M16A4, and it had standard roll marking like the photo mb44kar posted. It was a little higher than that serial number, in the 10163XXX range, so the photo below is also a pretty early production rifle. SN range is close to yours Sheepdog: Attached File

2024年10月18日 · Have to agree that the FN bolt guns were/are under appreciated, and relatively few people I come across know they exist. Every FN I've seen was really accurate and not too picky about ammo either. Dad had the .300wsm pbr when I was in high school and that rifle (and the shooter) demonstrated to me first hand what precision is.

I haven’t found any distinguishing markings on it, so although it’s a great quality stock, if I hadn’t gotten it from Chris at Shark, with him telling me it was an FN stock, I’d have no way of knowing what brand it was.

2023年2月20日 · Wait, why is the FN A4 preferable to the Colt? Doesn't the FN A4 have 4140 barrels and 6061 rifle buffer tubes? And the same questionable BCG parts as their carbines? I'm not anti FN either, but it's hard to recommend their commercial rifles over Colt's.

2012年8月15日 · Description: FN SPR (Special Police Rifle) Model A2 .308 Winchester. 24" Mil-Spec barrel with Badger Maximized 20-MOA scope base mounted w/#8-64 HD screws. Fired 175 rounds or less of only match ammo. Stock is a McMillan A4 (USMC currently using same) with 6 flush cups (2ea side and bottom) and swivel stud bottom for bipod.

2015年5月11日 · Since it was a Colt produced M4 TDP, the Army had to pay Colt royalties when they new contract for the M4A1 went to FN in 2013. So, Colt is not producing an A4 based on their TDP since they do not have one, FN owns it and has for several years now. Whether you choose FN or Colt, it will boil down to what you want and are willing to pay.

2018年1月28日 · The easiest way to get the closest to what you were issued would be to buy the FN A4 clone. Only two differences I can see from the one I was issued at the same time period. No burst of course, and the FN has that little UID bar code thing that we didn't have in 04-06 we had. Or the M4s we got when the Army decided to give even mech units the M4.
