The FIRST Technical Advisor (FTA) is the lead technical volunteer, an advocate for teams, and an advisor to the Head Referee. The FTA role is a key volunteer position that requires great people skills. An FTA’s time is primarily spent providing technical support to students setting up their robots for a match.

2025年1月10日 · BYPASSING a ROBOT is a decision generally made by the FTA when ROBOTS cannot connect or stay connected to the FIELD. A ROBOT'S ability to effectively compete in the MATCH is not a factor in this decision. FTAs work with DRIVE TEAMS to troubleshoot and help diagnose causes for a ROBOT not connecting to the FIELD prior to the start of a MATCH.

FTAAs can be granted the Field tech role to use the FTA notepad to easily track on-field robot issues. Track on-field robot issues and request a volunteer to follow-up.
