Kosovo Security Force's duties are to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo, provide military support to civilian authorities, and to participate in international military operations.

Forca e Sigurisë së Kosovës (FSK) është forca e armatosur e Kosovës dhe u formua më 1 janar 2009, pas shpërbërjes së Trupave Mbrojtëse të Kosovës. FSK-ja ndodhet në fazën paraprake drejt formimit të një ushtrie plotësisht funksionale që do të përbëhet nga 5000 ushtarë aktivë dhe nga 3000 rezervistë.

The Kosovo Security Force still does not have a military air base. Although the land of the former Gjakova airport is owned by the KSF and can be used as a base, Kosovo still does not have a military aviation. The purchase of weapons for the Kosovo army, including helicopters, seems to be hindering Russia.

The Kosovo Security Force continued to be strengthened during 2024. The army was supplied with weapons, military machinery and ammunition. While, behind these armaments, boys and girls stood tall and became an example to the most powerful countries.
