2017年7月6日 · Like the FT-857, the FT-891 is a menu-heavy rig. It has been mentioned that this would be a difficult rig to use in a vehicle, while driving. If you were on the move, and hoping to adjust things like power level, or anything outside of your top 3 programmable quick-button menu choices, then yes -- it is difficult.

2018年7月2日 · The recent release of the warmed-over FT-817 is evidence of that. Plus, if you look at where the FT-891 sits in the Yaesu line-up you realize that an improved version with more features is a threat to both the FT-857 and to the FT-991A. Before Yaesu can get serious about upgrading the FT-891 platform they first need to kill off the FT-857.

2017年7月6日 · The FT-891 receives at 1 amp (almost identical to the 857). Transmit is a little higher than the 857, but not a lot. They are pretty similar. Neither are as efficient as a FT-817, but are also 100w radios. This was mentioned in the original article. Please read it before posting false generalizations. 2017年7月6日 · I do not want to offend. Long looked at FT-891 and chose FT-991. Accumulator consumption at FT-891 catastrophic for field conditions!!! And if you deliver big batteries, by means of the car, it is simpler to use FT-991. Radio FT-891 interesting, but power consumption very big. There is no mobility, and its compactness does not become necessary.

2018年3月13日 · Having owned the Yaesu FT-857, and 897 in past years, the current specs for the 891, seemed somewhat off- In fact, I wondered if Yaesu simply published "worst case" numbers on the site, without bothering to publish a range of numbers which would make more sense to potential buyers.

2018年7月2日 · I run one mobile. I have no trouble with the menu system. I have even put the rig in split running down the road and worked a station in a pileup. I have ran mostly an FT-857 and a FT-991 mobile and this little FT-891 has a much better DNR than either of the other. It will knock out power line noise in town and running down the road 10 times ...
