The Fahd is a 4x4 Egyptian armored personnel carrier, designed to fit the requirements of the Egyptian Military. It replaced older APCs in Egyptian service such as the BTR-40, and the Walid (called Waleed in Egypt). [1] It has been used by the United Nations. [2]

The Fahd is fitted with a central tyre pressure-regulation system allowing the driver to adjust the tyre pressure to suit the terrain being crossed. The driver can select front or rear tyres, or all together. The central tyre-pressure system stops automatically after reaching the maximum or minimum tyre pressure selected by the driver.

The Fahd 240 ARV had a heavily modified rear compartment fitted with a roof-mounted 2.5 ton turntable-mounted hydraulic crane, and ground hydraulic stabilizers. There is a water-cannon armed Anti-Riot variant, with smoke grenade launcher.
