After being humiliated by his dim-witted parents one final time for not believing that his babysitter, Vicki is evil, Timmy wishes for a magical T.V. remote control that will transport him into the world of Television and decides to "run-away" from his family and friends.

To make things worse, since Fairy Godparents only work with kids, Cosmo and Wanda have to leave. Timmy tries to out-geek his buddies by wishing for an authentic looking alien during a reenactment of their favorite science fiction TV show.
