2012年6月7日 · First, check the belt tension, then check the tensioner for wear. If it is ok, then check the belt for any traps, wear, cracks - if found then replace. If the noise persists, then check the alternator pulley and its distance from it's centre shaft as the change in angle of belt will create the noise and it will recreate if the belt is replaced.

If you have more than one belt in your car, you might need to determine which of the belts is squeaking. The quick and easy way to pinpoint the right belt is to pour a class of water on the belt with the engine idling. You'll probably have to be fairly accurate, since the belts are often close together. The sound should go away for a few seconds.

There were little pieces and strips of the old belt that were stuck down in the bottom of about 25% of the grooves in the pulleys. I took a little pick tool and carefully cleaned out the remnants of the old belt. Sprayed it off with some electronics cleaner (just the pulleys not the belt), ran a clean toothbrush along the grooves in the belt.

2019年10月31日 · If it isn't, then you can either change out the tensioner (the springed portion) or the belt depending if you found fault in one of those areas. If that doesn't work, then there may be an issue with the AC itself. More than likely, the AC is not at fault and it will work just fine after the belt/tensioner is replaced.

To tighten, loosen the two bolts, circled in red, then turn the yellow circled bolt clockwise to tighten the belt. Don't forget to tighten the two red circled bolts after you tighten the belt. If, after you tighten it up it is still squeaking some, get some belt dressing for it.

2014年12月24日 · The pulley can wear out over time allowing the belt to slip a little. At startup there is a heavy load placed on your alternator, which causes it to squeal on the belt. Once the belt is warmed up, it can grab a little better, plus the demand on the alternator will have subsided some, which will allow it to stop squealing.

If belts are going to squeal, they will most likely do it when cold, then stop when warmed up.
