Fatoş Sezer, 1 Haziran 2011'de İstanbul Kurtuluş'taki evinde, uykusunda geçirdiği kalp krizi sonucu 53 yaşında vefat etti. Sanatçının cenazesi bir gün sonra Şişli Camii'nde kılındıktan sonra, Edirnekapı Sakızağacı Mezarlığı'nda toprağa verildi.
