Fear Feasa Ó'n Cháinte, Irish poet, fl. 16th century. Native of Munster, and a member of the Ó an Cháintighe bardic family. His known poems include the following: A shaoghail ón a shaoghail; Bean dá chumhadh críoch Ealla; Gluais a litir go Lunndain; He is thought to have been related to Tadhg Olltach Ó an Cháinte.

The Fear Feasa were our indigenous medicine men known as Healers, Seers, Ceremonial Facilitators, Ones who walk between the worlds, intermediaries with the Sídhe, and skilled with the knowledge of herbs.

The Irish Bean Feasa or Fear Feasa traditions are more akin to the Native medicine women and men of the American continent. The Bean Feasa is a walker between worlds and has a place in Irish society as a healer, seer, guide, ceremonial facilitator and connector to the land.

What is an bean feasa? The term An Bean Feasa (pronounced Ban Fasa) translates from Irish Gaelic as The Woman of Knowing, or the Woman of Knowledge. The masculine equivelant quite simply replaces the Gaeilge woman for man ~ An Fear Feasa (pronounced Far Fasa).

Fearfeasa Ó Maol Chonaire, sometimes Fearfeasa O'Mulconry and other variations, (fl. 1630s) was an Irish chronicler who is primarily known as the co-compiler and scribe of the Annals of the Four Masters. [1] Ó Maol Chonaire was a member of the Ó Maolconaire brehon family of north County Roscommon in Connacht.
