Jul 1, 2020 · I’ve always been a vintage Fender person with mostly old P- and J-basses in my arsenal. Now I decided on taking a, for me, big leap into the unknown and ordered a Fender Ultra precision’ mocha burst/rosewood fb. I did this pretty spontaneously and only with gut feeling and the fact that it looked good on paper (online).

Oct 15, 2024 · There's an updated Ultra Precision and Jazz Bass, along with a new Ultra Meteora Bass. From what I can see, the differences vs the Ultra are-Truss rod adjustment moved back to the headstock-Necks are now quarter sawn-Fender HiMass bridge remains, but can now be either top load or string-through body-Preamp changes (below)

Nov 27, 2023 · Long term I think the Vintage II 1960 is a better value, but I just love how the Ultra plays! If I could just have the Fender Custom Shop make me a P bass with the Ultra neck, PJ pickup combo using vintage J and P pickups, the high-mass bridge found on the American Professional II (with strings through the body), and a slab rosewood fretboard!

Jan 10, 2023 · I think you’ll be pleased. I could have waited but got a good deal on this used one. The more I play it the more I fall in love with it. My 2008 American Standard Precision is now second string behind this one.

Jun 8, 2010 · I bought a Precision Ultra last year that I love. That being said the line has gotten a little bit confusing. The bass I have doesn’t offer a string through option, the bridge they used is the same bridge they use on lower tier models, and the heel of the neck isn’t as nice as the Am Pro II P. Those are just a few things I find funny.

Nov 11, 2021 · A customer had me set up his American Ultra Precision Bass and we both agree that the amount of hum is excessive. My understanding is that the Fender Noiseless pickups would be very quiet but not so much in this case. I checked the ground wire under the bridge, as well as all the pickup connections.

Apr 21, 2021 · Well, I did decide on the Fender American Professional II Precision in olympic white. There was a newer mint one on Reverb for 1200 plus 25 shipping. I couldn't pass that up. The ultras just were too much money. And too be honest, I love the simplicity of the controls on the passive version.

Nov 30, 2012 · My precision is from 2020 and my jazz is from 2022. Other than the volume difference of the p pickup versus the j pickup I believe the preamps are exactly the same. As a side effect the ultra jazz with two j pickups has a very hot signal in passive mode, and an even hotter signal in active.
