The Fiat 2300 is a six-cylinder executive car which was produced by Italian automotive manufacturer Fiat between 1961 and 1968. The 2300 was made as saloon (styled by Dante Giacosa), estate car and coupé. The 2300 saloon is noteworthy as in 1966 it became the first Fiat model to be available with an automatic transmission.

The Fiat 2300 is a range of mid size cars introduced in 1961. Initially offered as a sedan or station wagon, in 1962 the Ghia styled 2300 Coupe was added to the range. The 2300 range was powered by a 2.3L inline six engine, and included the 2300 S variant, which featured a dual carburettor giving the 'S' an increase in power.

The Fiat 2300 had a straight-six gasoline engine with 2279 cc capacity with quadruple bearing crankshaft and hanging valves. This made a maximum of 77 kW (105 hp) at 5300 / min and powered by a hydraulically operated single-disc dry clutch , a synchronized four-speed gearbox with steering gear and a split propeller shaft to the rear wheels.

Styled by Ghia’s Tom Tjaarda, the 2300S Coupé was very much a grand tourer, even featuring electric windows and long-legged autostrada gearing. Its 2.3-litre six-cylinder engine delivered plenty of power and had been further boosted by twin carburettors.

Powering the Fiat 2300 was a powerful 2,279 cc OHV inline-six engine that produced 136 hp and capable of achieving 120 mph. Carlo Abarth tweaked Lamredi's design by adding a second twin-draft Weber carburetor and a ‘hotter' camshaft, which boosted the engine production from 105 bhp up to an impressive 136 bhp.
