2023年4月9日 · Hi. I replaced the timing belt on our 2016 Fiat 500 1.2 8V (VVT-engine). I've replaced timing belts before, but not on any cars that have VVT. I used the locking tools to lock the crank and cam (valve cover off). I had downloaded the instructions from AutoData. The instructions did not mention anything about loosening the cam sprocket, so I didn't.

2023年9月10日 · VVT Sprocket Removal - The Fiat procedure says to do this with a "reaction wrench" on the camshaft splines. I did it with a 1/2 inch T55 drive and 30" breaker bar on the bolt head & a 24mm spanner on the camshaft to stop it turning. Two points here (i) the fiat manual does not use the little black sprocket lock tool at this point.

2011年1月2日 · I'm pretty sure the only VVT fiat engines are the 1.4l 16v but the newer one, The StarJet that came after the Panda 100HP. But that was only VVT on the exhaust cam. The only other VVT that fiat do is the MultiAir which uses Hydralic lifters instead of cams so can have hundreds of timing combinations

2022年5月28日 · (P0009-62 - VVT (phase variator) - Signal Compare failure, P0011-61 - Phase Variator position - Signal Calculation Failure) and a -2.00 deg difference on the cam position parameters in MES. The car sounds fine and appeared to run fine.

2020年5月11日 · So my new VVT pulley arrived and the replacement process went without a hitch. That central bolt was damn tight, as expected, but it came out with a bit of persuasion from a long bar. I refitted the new belt as per Andy Monty's guide, using the locking tools to make sure that the timing was correct.
