2019年4月1日 · It's always seemed strange to me that some people want to optimize flamethrower turrets for fuel use, given their trivial rate of fuel consumption. It's like adding efficiency modules to optimize the power use of your labs when you have an 8-reactor nuclear power plant going. Sure it matters, a tiny bit. But killing biters quickly matters too.

2021年10月26日 · The flamethrower is special in that building it for one strength doesn't diminish the others since your flames pass through enemies and stick to surfaces anyway. I run a hybrid build with sticky fuel, faster target ignition, sticky flame slowdown, and heat radius.

The easiest thing to do is to just add the flamethrower to the base tank, and make sure it has enough speed to match your divisions. It gives the perfect terrain modifiers and is almost free. If you want to optimise your stats however, a flame tank has very reduced attack, armour and breakthrough, so stacking those is pretty pointless.

2019年7月14日 · Flamethrower still beats out spread shot if you include the 20 heat and autoattacks (remember that flamethrower hits 11 times, not 10). It just doesn't do so by much unless the encounter lasts a long time. When you include autoattacks flamethrower is still better only as long as there are 3 targets or more.

2020年11月25日 · You may run Flamethrower if you want it as your main STAB because a higher usage means that the 15% miss change becomes more of a liability. Heat Wave on the other hand has a lower damage output than Flamethrower and even less than Fire Blast. (Flamethrower: 90*100%=90; Fire Blast: 110*85%=93.5; Heat Wave: 95*90=85.5).
