Junior Achievement of Alaska provides statewide programming to help young people succeed. At the time of her sabbatical award, Flora Teo had worked 20 years for nonprofits including 14 years leading Junior Achievement. She created a rural Alaska presence that now operates in 25 communities and guided the organization through COVID.

Flora L. Teo is the President and CEO of JA of Alaska. Junior Achievement is one of a few nonprofits to use independent, third-party evaluators to gauge the impact of its programs. Since 1993, independent evaluators have conducted studies on Junior Achievement's effectiveness.

A lifelong Alaskan, Flora Teo has the ideal foundation for selling and buying homes. A licensed REALTOR, Flora graduated from Bartlett High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Alaska. She grew up in east Anchorage watching neighborhoods evolve and transform around her.
