Dec 7, 2024 · Someone in China has allready made "Fluke 742 inspired" boxes and sell these. One way forward could be that instead of making something that look like a 742 box, critically think (and maybe experiment) how a box can be made better. Good arrangements for thermal coupling and temperature measurements as mentioned here.

Feb 19, 2010 · My basic question is if its worth getting a used Fluke meter instead of getting a new, in the box meter? I know there are differences in the specs for the 87, 87-III and 87-V meters but for a hobbyist or semi-professional user does it justify the extra $200? Is there anything the new meters that people actually miss in the earlier versions?

Oct 18, 2024 · Regarding the Fluke 190-xxx II, I do not know if it has a "Install Bushealth Option" screen, it would be good to know from some reader having one of those. Is anyone out there? The screen can be reached by pressing the User button, then Version & language (F3), then F1 and see if a screen asking for a Bushealth code shows up or not. Thanks

May 7, 2016 · I picked up a fluke 8845A from government surplus in condition code A, however it was in F condition. The meter starts to come up, displays a menu but nothing else, no readings, keyboard does nothing, not even the soft power switch.

Aug 28, 2011 · Both Amprobe and Fluke belong to the same group, but from what I have seen, there is nothing that suggests that Amprobe multimeters are designed by Fluke engineers. The insides of the new Amprobe meters (34XR-A, 37XR-A, etc.) are pretty much the same as the discontinued Meterman series (34XR, 37XR, etc).

Mar 27, 2017 · There are at least 3 different major revisions of the Fluke 170 series. Post a picture of the entire pcb and report its pcb revision number. Latter versions of the 170 series share the same input protection components as recent Fluke handheld meters and we can find suitable, but not exact, replacements.

Sep 18, 2022 · Look inside the jacks. Maybe they need to be cleaned. There are a couple of threads where some fluke we’re showing negative ohm readings and wandered around. Cleaning the lower 1/3 of the PCB with the jacks with 99% IPA got them going, if memory serves me right. Google fluke negative ohm reading or something along that line.
