2002年6月14日 · Re: how to fix flywheel magnets? Duro 2 tube epoxy works as good as anything, clean flywheel until shiney, remove all epoxy from magnets. Apply even coat of epoxy to magnet, magnet will hold itself to the flywhell, until the epoxy sets. Remove excess epoxy. The magnets all have to be installed same direction. Let set 24 hours.

2015年3月1日 · The flywheel has a lip around the center hole and is threaded internally for a puller. The center hole is also larger in diameter than the pre-1995 flywheels. If the flywheel that you're looking at has the lip with threads, and the center hole for the crankshaft snout is the same size, then it might work unless it's for a two cylinder motor.

2007年4月24日 · Re: Mercury 9.9 Flywheel repair?? You want to be spraying the oil directly into the cylinders through the spark plug holes. Spraying the oil under the flywheel won't do any good. There is probably rust on the cylinder walls, and the pistons wont move in the cylinders.

If the magnet is still intact, most folks just clean up the area to be glued from rust, grease etc. and use some high temp epoxy like JB Weld or similar product. If the magnet is not usable, then a used flywheel from the auction sites are available. 1990 and earlier flywheels are common.

I have a 225hp evinrude 2000.the flywheel ringcame off.Can it be repair?nothing broke it just came off.It looks like it can be press back in place with little force.my question is after I press it back in place can I weld it maybe like in 4 place,so I don't take the chance of coming off again?

2009年6月30日 · Re: 1957 35 HP Big Twin Flywheel Repair The older 35hp flyweels did indeed crack, and replacement is the only cure. The flywheel hub was changed in the 1959 production models and replacement flywheels for the earlier models. The service bullitin explains that even with the newer hub, stress cracks will appear in the aluminum.
