The Fordson WOT (from War Office 'type' or 'truck') was a military truck produced by Ford of Britain in the Second World War. From 1939 to 1945, around 130,000 units were produced at the Ford Dagenham plant with almost half being the WOT2. [1] Five models, WOT1, WOT2, WOT3, WOT6 and WOT8 were produced.

The WOT6 fulfilled, along with the Bedford QL, the Army´s need for a 4 x 4 truck for a long period of time. Besides cargo carrying role the WOT6 was used as a squad truck for the infantry and as command and control truck.

2023年9月23日 · Fordson built the WOT in five major variants: WOT1, WOT2, WOT3, WOT6, and WOT8. The first three were rear-wheel drive trucks with the cab behind the engine. The last two versions were four-wheel drive with a cab-over-engine layout. All used the 3.6 liter Flathead V8 producing 85 bhp at 3,800 rpm and 144 lb ft of torque.

2023年1月8日 · Collected a WOT6 wreck from an old airfield in Lincolnshire yesterday. I was given the location details by Seamus who is restoring his WOT6 on another thread. It will take years to finish once my Loyd Carrier is completed. If anyone knows on any other wrecks if parts please get in touch.

2019年4月4日 · The WOT6 and WOT8 were mechanically identical, both had the V8. the tread grips on top of front wings on the 3 tonner are fitted straight on, there the 30cwt WOT8 had a flat platform on top of the wing.
