The Alberta Mountain forests are a temperate coniferous forests ecoregion of Western Canada, as defined by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) categorization system. [2] This ecoregion covers the grand Rocky Mountains of Alberta including the eastern outliers of the Continental Ranges.

2025年3月3日 · Around 61 percent of Alberta is forested. The majority of this forested land is in the vast Boreal Forest Natural Region, with an additional strip of forested land running down the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains, in the Rocky Mountain and Foothills Natural Regions.

The Boreal Forest is Alberta's largest natural region, encompassing 58% of the province. It features broad lowland plains and an extensive hill system. It also contains the Peace-Athabasca Delta, the second-largest freshwater delta in the world.
