2025年1月16日 · After stopping Forteo, the bone formation (P1NP) goes back quickly to normal, but the bone resorption (CTx) continues to stay high. In other words, no holiday. Either continue according to your doctor or switch to an antiresorptive drug (bisphosphonate or Prolia) to keep the Forteo gains. You can have a bisphosphonate holiday later.

2011年11月6日 · Sunshine, you have to take Forteo everyday, so how would your Dr. give it to you on the weekends? I wouldn't want to go to my Drs office everyday either. Just wanted to say, this injection is "really" easy and rarely hurts. The needle is the size of an eyelash and the pre-metered pen it comes in is nothing like a regular injection.

2015年2月20日 · Thanks Hokadobi, for sharing and re-assuring me about Forteo. I had to have two molar extractions, and a root canal on a third tooth shortly after stopping Fosamax. I am sure there was a connection because I never had dental problems before. I have been on Forteo almost six months, and no dental problems so far. Knock on wood.

And I was also surprised to learn that Forteo not only increases bone density, but it also increases bone size -- and because of this, the DXA bone scan will underestimate Forteo's ability to reduce fractures.
