The Foto Hut was a photography store chain started in 1972 by Frank Sklar [1] (March 22, 1921 – December 1, 2009) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The chain eventually went out of business in 2003 because of competition with larger retail corporations such as Walmart and Target and because of the popularity of digital media.

Fotomat was an American retail chain of photo development drive-through kiosks located primarily in shopping center parking lots. Fotomat Corporation was founded by Preston Fleet in San Diego, California, in the 1960s, with the first kiosk opening in Point Loma, California, in 1965.

De fotohut ligt in Poppel, dicht tegen de Nederlandse grens. Vanaf 20 juni 2020 wordt deze hut verhuurd voor een ieder die geniet van het fotograferen in een hut. Het bijzondere aan deze hut is dat je met het gebruik van deze hut meteen een goed doel steunt.

Fotohut Maasduinen ligt in Nationaal Park de Maasduinen, vlakbij het plaatsje Well, gemeente Bergen (Nederland, Noord-Limburg). De vogelfotografiehut bevindt zich op een privaat bosperceel ten oosten van het Reindersmeer. De hut is vanaf de doorgaande weg gemakkelijk te bereiken. Van auto tot hut is het ongeveer 250 meter lopen door het bos.
