Foundation for Revitalisation of Local Health Traditions (FRLHT) is a registered Public Trust and Charitable Society, which started its activities in March 1993. The Ministry of Science & Technology recognizes FRLHT as a scientific and industrial research organization.
About FRLHT's Indian Medicinal Plants Database
It incorporates 7263 botanical names of Indian medicinal plants and these botanical names have been correlated to more than 1,50,000 vernacular names in ten different languages of India. It also includes > 5000 authentic images of Indian medicinal plants duly linked to the specific botanical entities.

FRLHT has facilitated six rapid assessment workshops in peninsular India during 1995-2001. The results include separate assessments for five states- Maharashtra, Andhra pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, besides a consolidated, regional assessment for the latter three states i.e. southern India together.

FRLHT’s Ethnomedicinal Garden is a unique garden that has been aesthetically landscaped, exclusively with native medicinal plants. It is a live repository of 1500 species of medicinal plants, collected from all over India that can be grown in the climatic conditions of Bangalore.
