2017年8月7日 · Less than 10% of my strikes on frogs come when actaully walking them. They usually come off the top of lilies or when I drop the frog in an unsuspecting bass's lap. Meaning said bass attacks the bait before the retrieve starts. The walk is a tease for open water. But the walk is a lot easier on a Poppin' Pad Crasher than it is on a regular frog.

2020年12月15日 · I use the Trokar swimbait hook, I’ve gotten better hookups than a standard 5/0 worm hook. The worm hook worked good with the rage toad, but I used the Keitech Noisy Flapper a lot this year and found it was thicker than a rage toad so the standard hook didn’t work great for hooking up or staying hooked.

I have tried 40 and 50 lb (Power Pro Super Slick, Smackdown, Sunline BX2). I haven't tried Sunline FX2 Froggin' and Flippin'.

I'd really like a rod this year that is dedicated to just the frog and other topwater. I bought a lews TP1 in a 7' 6" Heavy action but it is just too stiff to throw a hollow body frog well.

I have found that cutting about 1" off the "legs" can help and I've also cut one leg shorter than the other on some frogs, not sure if that truly makes a difference in the ability to walk ...
