Why is the G-8 arc so highly acclaimed? : r/OnePiece - Reddit
I found G-8 arc the reason why I was brought into One Piece. After watching Skypiea as my first arc, G-8 made me a fan of One Piece. It has some good character development in Jonathan as someone who's a tactical thinker. I like how each crew member handled the situation. Zoro got caught immediately.

2021年2月2日 · 196-206: G-8. As stated it is a pretty decent arc. So many people love it though so you should watch it just to get the references people make to it. 384: This episode is right after Brook joins and it shows him trying to figure out his place amongst the crew. It is such a great episode 279-283: These are actually recap episodes during Enies Lobby.
Is the G8 Filler arc worth watching? : r/OnePiece - Reddit
Some people love it. I thought it was OK. Give it a shot but feel free to skip if it gets boring. It has some funny parts! It's also a nice breather between Skypiea and the next big saga. (Technically the Davy Back Arc is supposed to do that, but the anime added a lot of filler there too)

What's your thoughts on the g8 arc? : r/OnePiece - Reddit
2023年8月5日 · The shock I had when I realized that G8 was a filler arc was nuts, because it just flowed so well and was legitimately amazing. Now, every reread of Skypiea involves switching to the anime to rewatch G8
Wait....G-8 was a filler?! : r/OnePiece - Reddit
2021年9月23日 · I found it pretty obvious that G-8 was a filler while Long Ring Long Land was not. G-8’s writing style is different than Oda’s plus nothing happens in it. The arc starts with them falling from the sky and ends with them falling from the sky. Plus, the plot of G-8 kind of takes away from the stakes of Water 7/Enies Lobby.

2020年6月30日 · I just saw the G-8 arc and came here to say how much I liked it! IMHO: It has a reasonably focused plot for filler, and Jonathan is a good antagonist. Sanji's kitchen plot was awesome, and Chopper's infirmary plot was pretty good. There's almost no flashbacks, which is a nice change even from the main plots.
Unpopular opinion: G8 is the best one piece arc : r/OnePiece
2023年5月23日 · Rewatching any other arc I would probly skip over half of it since for all the normal arcs, anything non combat is meh. G8 having such golden non combat is a real treat. I’d skip less if the rest of the series non combat was as good as g8.
Is it okay to skip the G8 arc? : r/OnePiece - Reddit
2015年10月6日 · G8 arc actually feels more important than the arc that follows it. Trust me. You do NOT want to rush head-long into the Foxy arc. Watch it and skip the Foxy one if anything. It's not only more enjoyable, but also makes more sense in terms of …
Genuine Question on G-8 : r/OnePiece - Reddit
If you read Skypiea and even LRLL, they are both better than watching G-8. If you watched Skypiea and LRLL, then G-8 is about as good or better. The reason is that, as a filler arc, Toei didn't need to pad out G-8 with "extra" filler time, they were telling their own story at their own pace (the same way Oda does with the manga).
