The General Electric GE90 is a family of high-bypass turbofan aircraft engines built by GE Aerospace for the Boeing 777, with thrust ratings from 81,000 to 115,000 pounds-force (360 to 510 kilonewtons). It entered service with British Airways in November 1995.

After being selected by Boeing to develop an engine with 110,000 to 115,000 lbs. of thrust, GE Aerospace delivered the GE90-115B engine, which now powers the longer-range Boeing 777-200LR, 777-300ER, and 777 Freighter aircraft. The GE90 engine is the most technologically advanced commercial turbofan engine in the last 25 years.

2006年7月17日 · FARNBOROUGH -- The high-thrust GE90-115B engine, powering the Boeing 777-300ER, has achieved one of the best entries into airline service for a jet engine powering wide-body aircraft. The GE90-115B, certified at an unprecedented 115,000 pounds (512 kN) of thrust, powers the 777-300ER, 777-200LR and 777 freighter.

These aircraft have MTOWs of 760,700-775,000lbs and fuel capacities of 47,890USG and 53,440USG, so they required higher take-off thrusts of 110,100lbs (-110B) and 115,000lbs (-115B). This makes them the highest rated civil airliner turbofan engines. The GE90 growth engine is the only option for the 777-200LR, -200F and -300ER.

The GE90 Growth, which includes the GE90-110B and GE90-115B versions, is one of the largest and most powerful engines in the world.
