2025年1月2日 · Upon request from Missouri Pacific, General Electric also manufactured a variant, the B30-7A. This locomotive was externally identical to the B23-7 but featured an uprated 12-cylinder, 7FDL prime mover that could also produce 3,000 horsepower. This improvement enabled greater fuel savings and lower maintenance costs.

2025年2月1日 · Two B30-7A variants - the slightly longer "B30-7A1" and cabless "B30-7AB" (as they were known among railfans) - were built for SOU and BN respectively. All 12-cylinder models were distinguished by six (rather than eight) engine room doors per side, but shared the same carbody and frame dimensions as 16-cylinder versions.

2024年7月25日 · The B30-7A is an uprated revision of the catalogued but unbuilt B28-7 from the 1976 New Series catalog, with a power uprate from 2750 to 3000 horsepower. Originally offered as a more fuel efficient B30-7, the B30-7A boasted a large number of iterative upgrades GE was using to bring the Series 7 up to spec with the recently announced EMD 50 Series.

The B30-7 was a BoBo Diesel Electric locomotive built between 1977~983 by General Electric, the 2nd model in the Dash7 series. Production totals were 199 standard B30-7s, 58 B30-7As, 22 B30-7A1s, & 120 cabless B30-7A(B)s. Initially B30-7s were fitted with the 7FD16 diesel engine like the C30-7A, then the 7FDL12 with the same 3000 hp was used.

2024年4月15日 · In the late 1970s, General Electric introduced the B30-7, a 16-cylinder, 3,000-hp, four-axle locomotive designed for road service. Virtually identical externally to the B23-7 model offered at the same time, the B30-7 ended up with less orders, though it did sell more variations than its 12-cylinder, 2,250-hp cousin.
