The 4T65E was a transmission manufactured by General Motors from 1998-2011. It replaced the 4 T 60E starting in the mid to late nineties. It is designed for transverse mounted engines (front/all wheel drive).

The 4T60E was modified in 1993 and renamed as 4T65E. This gearbox is a robust product of GM, which properly operates for the first 5-7 years of service. The 440-T4 has been operating since 1983 on Cadillac named as 4T60, and considered to be quite convenient and repairable.

2021年4月1日 · The 4T65-E transmission is a Turbo-Hydramatic or “Hydra-Matic” 4-speed automatic transmission produced by General Motors (GM). The predecessor of the 4T65E is the Turbo-Hydramatic 125 transmission which was a revolutionary transmission for transverse applications on its own.

The 4T65-E transaxle uses 2 electric solenoids to control transaxle upshifts and downshifts. Each solenoid is turned on or off by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). PCM also includes on-board self-diagnostics. This helps identify which components or circuits may need further testing.
