The Greenbelt Native Plant Center is a facility of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. We are a 13-acre greenhouse, nursery, and seed bank complex. GNPC is a municipally funded native plant center who's primary mission is to provide native plant material to restoration projects on public lands in NYC. We have one full time seed collector and several staff that seed collect part time with a depth of regional botanical knowledge and abilities.

The Greenbelt Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization working in partnership with NYC Parks to care for the Greenbelt's 2,800 acres of open space, parks, trail system and public facilities in central Staten Island.

At the GNPC, we: Propagate over 336 species of native plants collected from local wild populations. Propagate 200,000–400,000 individual plants annually.
