2019年8月17日 · I also noticed a bug that even if I explicitly choose another folder in the "Save As" dialog, for some reason the folder is still selected "/home/david/Программы GNU Octave/". I don’t know, maybe it’s stuck, I will restart the octave and check.

That's the reason why you are seeing the error message when you try and open that file in Octave while the character encoding is set to "UTF-8". I'd really recommend setting the default encoding in Octave to "UTF-8" and converting your files from CP1252 to UTF-8.

2024年5月23日 · I was seeing this same behavior on Octave 9.2.0 on Windows 10. I added the path to the current directory in my ~/.octaverc file with addpath("~"). This seems to have fixed the problem at least for files saved in that directory.
